• Life-form & habit: Perennial, rigid, branched, 20–60 cm; stems pubescent or glandular.
• Leaves: Linear, somewhat involute; lower leaves oblong to oblanceolate, upper narrower, sessile.
• Inflorescence & flowers: Cymes loose. Calyx tubular, 10–15 mm, pubescent, papillo-hispid, 10–20-nerved. Petals whitish to pink, bifid, limb shorter than tube.
• Fruit: Capsule ovate, not constricted, opening with 6 teeth; seeds minute, finely rugose.
• Phenology: Flowers May–August.
• Habitat & elevation: Rocky and steppe habitats, montane to submontane zones.
• Lebanese distribution: Nahr el-Kelb, Beirut, Khaldé, Yahchouche, Kamed el-Loz, Baalbeck, Ras Baalbeck.
• Syrian distribution: Latakia, Damascus, Aleppo, Hermon, Jabal ‘Abd el-‘Aziz.
• Native range: Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Türkey. (POWO/WCVP)
