• Life-form & habit: Perennial with woody stock, 10–20 cm tall. Numerous stems, uniflorous or rarely biflorous, pubescent, eglandular.
• Leaves: Linear-subulate, rigid, 3-nerved, often falcate.
• Inflorescence & flowers: Flowers solitary or in pairs. Calyx 30–40 mm, pubescent, cylindric-turbinate, long attenuate at base; teeth oblong, somewhat obtuse. Petal limb white, bifid to one-third; corona ovate, obtuse, bidentate.
• Fruit: Capsule ovate, shorter than or equalling the calyx.
• Phenology: Flowers July–August.
• Habitat & elevation: High mountains.
• Lebanese distribution: Between Dimane and Yammouné; Qala‘at ‘Arrouba.
• Native range: Iraq, Levant (Lebanon–Syria), and Turkey (POWO).
