• Life-form & habit: Tufted perennial, velvety at the base, with slender, simple, erect flowering stems.
• Leaves: Linear-lanceolate and slightly spatulate, clustered at the bases of flowering stems and in dense sterile shoots. Stem leaves are small and linear.
• Inflorescence & flowers: Small, whitish, stalkless flowers packed into an oval terminal head, subtended by oblong bracts with scarious margins. The hairless, bell-shaped calyx has blunt or slightly notched oval teeth. Petals have fringed claws and narrow, spatulate blades without a crown.
• Habitat & elevation: Dry, stony mountain ground.
• Lebanese distribution: Between Jabal Sannine and Jabal Kneisse, above Zahle, and Sannine.
• Native range: Iran, Lebanon-Syria, Türkiye.
