• Life-form & habit: Plant 10–30 cm tall, with strongly lignified base. Entire plant conspicuously glandular, especially the calyx.
• Leaves: Similar to typical subsp. libanotica, ovate-lanceolate, serrate.
• Inflorescence & flowers: Terminal thyrses; calyx markedly glandular. Corolla tubular, reddish-brown.
• Fruits: Capsule bilocular, many-seeded.
• Phenology: Flowers summer to autumn.
• Habitat & elevation: High mountain summits.
• Lebanese distribution: Foum-el-Mizhab, ‘Ayyoun Ourghouch, Qornet el-‘Achara (Mt!), Qornet es-Saouda (Pb!), Jabal Sannine, Tannourine.
• Native range: Turkey, Lebanon.
