Life-form & habit: Somewhat suffrutescent at the base, glandular, low-growing, with ascending stems 10–40 cm long.

Leaves: Long-petiolate; leaflets obovate-oblong.

Inflorescence & flowers: Axillary, subsessile flowers forming leafy terminal racemes.

Calyx: Hispid, lobes linear, 3–4× longer than tube.

Corolla: Yellow, 7–8 mm, not exceeding calyx.

Fruit: Pod pubescent, ovate-rhomboidal, equalling the calyx, with 3–4 finely tuberculate seeds.

Phenology: Flowers June–August .

Habitat & elevation: Montane and sub-arid regions.

Lebanese distribution: Mm. Cèdres de Ma‘asser, Jabal Barouk, Qorn ‘Aïtou, Hasroun valley, Bcharré, Dimane, Les Cèdres, Jabal Qamoua, Qala‘at Arrouba; Ve. above Zahlé.

Syrian distribution: Baalbeck; Hermon: Rachaya; Damascus: Jabal Qasyoun; Anti-Lebanon: Ouadi-el-Qarn, Houreiré, Jabal Halimé, Jabal Ma‘loula, Yabroud; N Lattaquié: Baghtché Caz; Aleppo: above Harim, west of Qatma .

Native range: Spain, Italy, Corsica, Sardinia, North Africa, Dalmatia, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Lebanon–Syria, Palestine (Mouterde) .
