• Life-form & habit : Annual to short-lived therophyte; stems erect, slender, 20–60 cm tall, usually branched above, sparsely pubescent.
• Leaves : Basal leaves in a rosette, oblanceolate to pinnatifid, 5–12 cm long; cauline leaves smaller, alternate, often clasping, entire to lobed; surfaces glabrous to slightly hairy.
• Inflorescence & flowers : Capitula arranged in a loose corymbose panicle; involucre cylindrical; florets all ligulate, yellow.
• Fruit : Achenes slightly dimorphic; all ribbed, with a well-developed white pappus; outer achenes shorter than inner ones.
• Phenology : Flowers from April to June.
• Habitat & elevation : Rocky slopes, open grasslands and disturbed places; 800–1800 m.
• Lebanese distribution : Mount Lebanon and Anti-Lebanon; local.
• Native range : Albania, Cyprus, Greece, Lebanon-Syria, Palestine, Türkiye, Türkiye-in-Europe.
