• Life-form & habit : Annual therophyte; stems erect to ascending, slender, 20–60 cm tall, glabrous or sparsely pubescent, usually branched.
• Leaves : Alternate, imparipinnate; leaflets numerous (6–12), oblong to linear, small (5–15 mm), entire, glabrous; terminal leaflet similar to lateral ones; stipules small, membranous.
• Inflorescence & flowers : Axillary umbels, few- to several-flowered; peduncles slender; flowers papilionaceous, yellow; calyx campanulate; standard broad, wings and keel shorter.
• Fruit : Legume elongated, flattened, indehiscent, sickle-shaped to slightly curved, not segmented, ending in a distinct beak; containing several seeds.
• Phenology : Flowers from March to May; fruiting from April to June.
• Habitat & elevation : Fields, roadsides, open grasslands and disturbed habitats; 0–1500 m.
• Lebanese distribution : Widespread, especially in lowland and cultivated areas; common.
• Native range : Albania, Bulgaria, Corse, Cyprus, East Aegean Is., France, Greece, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Kriti, Krym, Lebanon-Syria, Morocco, North Caucasus, NW. Balkan Pen., Palestine, Sicilia, Transcaucasus, Türkiye, Türkiye-in-Europe.
