Campanula trichopoda Boiss.

Life-form & habit: Perennial with a strong vertical root; stems numerous, very slender, often filiform, decumbent or ascending, forming a dense mat on the ground, rarely exceeding 10 cm in height.
Leaves: Very small, entire, orbicular to ovate, pale green, minutely pubescent.
Inflorescence & flowers: Flowers carried 2–3 together on slender pedicels at the tip of stems or branchlets; pedicels fine.
Calyx: Lobes relatively broad, not separated at base, approximately equal in length to the tube.
Corolla: Blue, narrowly tubular-campanulate, with very short lobes.
Phenology: Flowers from May to September.
Habitat & elevation: High-altitude rocky habitats.
Lebanese distribution: Mm.–Me. Subalpine Lebanon (Auch), source above Ehden (Boiss.), Qadicha caves near Bcharré, Bcharré, Mar Elias ‘Amoudi, Hasroun, Ehden, Qornet es-Saouda, summit of Jabal Kneissé, Laqlouq, Jabal Sannine, ‘Aqoura, above Sir, Neba‘ Chouène, Jabal Qamou‘a, Yammouné–Dimane.
Syrian distribution: Slenfé.
Native range: Endemic to Lebanon and the Anti-Lebanon range
