  • Life-form & habit: Perennial climbing plant, glabrous, often extending several meters in length.

  • Leaves: Cordate-oblong or sagittate, with basal lobes entire, angular or truncate.

  • Inflorescence & flowers: Peduncles long, 1-flowered. Involucral bracts subcordate, flattened, narrowed at the apex, completely enclosing the calyx.

  • Calyx: Sepals oblong-acute.

  • Corolla: White, funnel-shaped, 2–4 cm long.

  • Fruit: Capsule not described in detail by Mouterde.

  • Phenology: Flowers from April to September.

  • Habitat & elevation: Moist ditches, hedgerows, and watercourses.

  • Lebanese distribution: Ct. Tripoli; Met. Ta‘naïl; St. near Orontes springs.

  • Syrian distribution: Orontes banks near Homs; Dam. Raboué, Barada River banks.
