Life-form & habit: Evergreen shrub, 1–2 m tall; stems woody, erect.
Leaves: Persistent, coriaceous, attenuate at base, green above, glaucous beneath, subobtuse, 7–8 × 1 cm, midrib prominent.
Inflorescence & flowers: Terminal umbels, multiflorous. Bracts of the involucre and involucel early caducous, oblong-lanceolate. Petals bright yellow.
Fruit: Oblong, a little longer than the pedicels, with sharp ribs.
Phenology: Flowers August–September.
Habitat & elevation: Found in woodlands and scrub.
Lebanese distribution: Kesrouan (Gaillardot), Ghazir, ‘Aramoun, Mohrab, between ‘Aramoun and Chahtoul.
Native range: Algeria, Corse, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon, Morocco, Portugal, Sardegna, Sicilia, Spain, Tunisia (POWO).
Introduced into: Germany, Great Britain, Krym (POWO).
