Life-form & habit: Erect perennial with a more slender aspect than the typical variety.
Leaves: Often narrower than in B. elegans, 2–3 times pinnatisect with short, linear-divergent lobes.
Inflorescence & flowers: Umbels 3–10-rayed; bracts short, lanceolate-subulate. Petals white or pinkish.
Fruit: More elongate than in the typical form, oblong, rounded at both ends at maturity, previously subcylindrical. Pedicels often slightly longer than the fruit, sometimes 2–3 times as long.
Styles: Long, flexuous, reflexed, much longer than the stylopodium.
Phenology: Flowers from April to August.
Habitat & elevation: Wooded and montane interior zones.
Lebanese distribution: Mi. Sir-ed-Denniyé, East of Douma, Rayfoun; Mm. Sofar, Berkacha, Ehden, Hasroun, Cedars of Hadeth, Dahr-el-Baïdar, Jabal Qamou‘a, Cedars of Bsharré, Afqa, Sannine, Kneissé; Ve. Khan Mourad; Me. Upper Sannine.
Syrian distribution: Yaat, Masna‘a; Herm. Hermon, Hasbaya.
Native range: Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Transcaucasia
