Bidens pilosa L. var. radiata Schultz-Bip.

Life-form & habit: Erect, much-branched annual, 50–100 cm tall.
Leaves: Pinnatifid to pinnatisect, rarely entire.

Inflorescence & flowers: Capitula radiate, on erect peduncles; involucral bracts all appressed, equal, acute at apex, scarious-margined, as long as the flowers but overtopped by the achenes. Marginal florets with broad, white, ovate ligules, often caducous. Central florets yellow.
Fruit: Achenes blackish, with 2–4 apical barbed awns.
Phenology: Flowers from October to January.
Habitat & elevation: Cultivated ground.
Lebanese distribution: Ct. Furn el-Chebbak, Hazmiyé, Pont du Pacha, aqueduct of Nahr Beyrouth.
Regional range: Tropical and subtropical countries; adventive in many warm temperate regions
