• Life-form & habit: Diffuse or ascending perennial, 10–60 cm, with sterile shoots ending in rosettes. Indument dimorphic, grey-green.
• Leaves: Basal leaves ovate-spatulate; cauline leaves lanceolate or linear-lanceolate, acute.
• Inflorescence & flowers: Raceme elongating in fruit. Pedicels 4–10 mm, spreading. Sepals 2.5–4 mm. Petals 4–7 mm, emarginate, yellow.
• Fruit: Silicles 3–6 mm, suborbicular to orbicular-obovate, pubescent, truncate or emarginate at apex, valves convex on one face, surrounded by a margin. Style 1.5–3 mm.
• Phenology: Flowers April–June.
• Habitat & elevation: Grassy or wooded places, mainly at higher elevations.
• Lebanese distribution: Mm. Jabal Mneitri (W of Qartaba), ‘Aïn Zehalta, Jabal Qamoua, Sir-ed-Dennié, Ehden, Jabal Barouk, mountains of Akkar, col between Jezzine and Machghara, Jabal Kneissé, Hasroun, Qannoubine.
• Native range: Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Iran, Krym, Lebanon–Syria, North Caucasus, NW Balkan Peninsula, Palestine, Romania (POWO).
