• Life-form & habit: Dense, compact cushions appressed to the ground, formed by sterile shoots and very short flowering stems, 3–4 cm tall.
• Leaves: Green, glabrous or slightly pruinose, revolute, only 2 mm long, in whorls of 6.
• Inflorescence & flowers: Cymes of 2–3 flowers, borne in axils of upper leaves, shortly pedunculate. Peduncles and pedicels setaceous, 4–5× longer than flowers.
• Calyx: Pale yellow, small.
• Corolla: Brown-purple, c. 1.5 mm.
• Fruit: Small nutlet, 0.8 mm, pale brownish-yellow.
• Phenology: Flowers May–August.
• Habitat & elevation: Alpine regions.
• Lebanese distribution: Alpine region of Lebanon — Jabal Sannine (Hartm., Bnm., Np., Pb), Sir-ed-Denniyé (P), above Tannourine-el-Foqa (Mt), Mar Elias (Bl), above Bcharré (Ehrenb., Gb, Bl, Hafst, Sam., Wall., Mt, Pb), above Dimane (Bl), Hasroun (Bl), Ehden (Boiss., Bl., Ky, P, Sam., Pb), Fnaideq (Gb), Jabal Qamoua (Mt, Pb), ‘Aqoura (P) .
• Native range: Amanus (Turkey) and Mount Lebanon .
