Life-form & habit: Glabrous perennial with multiple stems, 60–150 cm tall, often leafless at the base, ascending or slightly ramified.
Leaves: Lanceolate-linear, entire.
Inflorescence & flowers: Cymose inflorescences forming an elongated, interrupted, narrowly thyrsoid panicle.
Corolla: Sessile, pink; tube long, ending in a short limb with 5 lobes; spur slightly shorter than the tube and about three times longer than the ovary.
Fruit: Not described in detail; calyx persists and expands into a plume-like structure.
Phenology: Flowers from June to October.
Habitat & elevation: Rocky places.
